A Belais Antique Filigree Ring, White Gold and Fancy Shaped Amethyst, Circa 1930’s.
This is an antique filigree ring, manufactured by the Belais company and dating to the 1930’s . It is made of 14k white gold (stamped) and hallmarked with the Belais maker’s mark (see photo). The mounting is a fancy six-sided shape with a floral filigree motif, measuring 22.6 mm wide and tapering to 1.55 mm at the base of the shank. It is set with one (1) fancy six-sided amethyst measuring 18.75 x 8.85 x 6.85 mm; color is slightly reddish-purple with medium tone. It has sustained some minor surface damage from its previous life (a small bruise at the point and some minor abrasion of the facet junctions). Filigree is accented by milgrain tooling. It is a finger size 7 3/4.
