Agate, Orange Garnet, Cultured Pearl and Diamond Earrings–A Summit Original! (E2967)
Every bit of these one-of-a-kind earrings was hand-built by our amazing staff (except the stones and pearls, of course!) Top of the earring is set with one organic oval shaped geode half with a polished rim for contrast. Each geode measures 22.0 x 11.0 mm and is prong set in a wire frame. Dangling below each geode is a small spray of gold with one (1) baroque cultured freshwater pearl, a pear-shaped orange garnet and several accent diamonds. The pearl measure 11.5 x 7.5 mm and have a light peachy shade with silver overtones and medium high luster. The garnets are pear-shaped and each measure 6 x 4 mm; clarity is eye clean and color is a medium slightly brownish-orange. Four (4) full cut diamonds are bezel set in an asymmetric design, two in each earring; total weight of the diamonds is 0.17 carats (SI clarity, G-H color). Overall length of the earrings is 2 1/4-inches long. Earrings are pierced with friction fit posts and backs.

The art of metal forming is an ancient one, dating back thousands of years. This particular project begins with cutting, shaping and soldering wire to fit the unique shapes of the featured stones. The metal is then filed and polished, assembled and set with stones. (One of the difficulties of hand-creating earrings is making the two pieces identical!) Finally, the earrings are polished and textured in a multi-step process and cleaned. Lastly, we critically inspect the item to make sure everything is as we intended. Each artist has his or her own aesthetic and technique which adds to the wide variety of unique pieces in our inventory.
