News and Summer Vacation!
Greetings All!
We are heading into the final stretch of summer and that means–VACATION! This year we are mixing things up a bit and closing up the shop for just one week. We will be closed from Sunday, August 5th through Monday, August 13th and will resume our regular business hours on Tuesday, August 14th.
Just in case you missed it–here’s our latest feature on KDSK’s “Show Me St. Louis”. Summit on KSDK
As many of you may know, Peter is our resident foodie who is always exploring the St. Louis culinary scene with his husband, Jeremy. One of his favorites I hear him mentioning frequently to clients (you may have had this conversation with him) is Edibles & Essentials down on Hampton. In Peter’s words, “This place is a DO NOT MISS! offering a diverse menu using only real, fresh ingredients (many sourced locally). The amazing bahn mi tacos are a favorite, as is the key lime pie. Ask owner/chef Matt Borchardt for recommendations (I ALWAYS take his recommendations!). Truly a gem in South City.” You can find Edibles & Essentials at 5815 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109.
Watch (or stop by) for more great restaurant recommendations (and get your jewelry fix, too.)
Peridot is the birthstone for August babies. In premium stones, the lime-green color is reminiscent of green apple Jolly Rancher candy. I am often asked what is the correct way to pronounce peridot–is it “Peri-DOE” or “Peri-DOT”? The answer is that both are correct. Officially, the stone was named after the town near where it was first found, Peridot, Arizona, which is pronounce with a hard T. Mirram-Webster lists both pronunciations as correct. Either way, the incredible green color is mouth-watering.
Wishing everyone a very safe and happy end of the summer! See you after the 13th!
